About Fineprint

We aim to combine the customer service and approachability of the high street printing companies with the pricing and knowledge structure of the larger commercial trade printers.

Fineprint is an established General & Commercial Printing company that has been trading in Basingstoke since 1994. We started, like most small businesses, because we felt that we had something different to offer.

As our business has grown, we have developed our in-house capabilities and our customer service with 2002 being a defining year for us:

We achieved ISO 9001-2000 accreditation
Installed a Management system for more efficient customer services for estimating, stock control, delivery, invoicing and cost analysis
Moved to a 5000 sq ft unit
Became Limited Company

We work very hard on Customer Service. We always try to have capacity on press for those 'left-to-the-last-minute' jobs (all of which are too frequent in the print industry). We also aim to reduce turnaround times for print jobs working hard on our production systems to allow for this.

Management

Fineprint is managed by Mike Woolhouse, who has worked in the printing industry for 32 years. Starting as an apprentice in the Bindery, Mike then moved into the press-room. This was followed by management positions, sales positions, and finally teaching print and design at Reading College & School of Arts & Design (now Thames Valley University). Here, Mike became Senior Lecturer of Graphic Studies, teaching BTEC Foundation, City & Guilds, HND and Foundation Degree courses in Print Management. He also designed and ran short courses on printing processes to clients such as Yellow Pages, Xerox, McCorquodale and the Interior Ministry of the Republic of China.
